Organizing Earrings
After the necklaces were organized, I pondered what to put my hands on next. This was not easy. Earrings, of course! First I had an idea to use a fabric and tighten it around a wooden frame. I neither had a fabric with holes big enough to insert earrings into nor a frame to upholster around. In the kitchen I checked for metal netesque dishes on which earrings could be hung on. No such thing.
You know the little ribbons that often hang on a new piece of clothing? I tend to save those for a rainy day (the ribbons not the tags). Into the ribbon bag I went and found lots of colourful ribbons and little rope like strings. Perfect!
Step 1. Get strings or ribbons, and small pins.
Step 2. Pin the ribbon tightly against the wall/board fixture, otherwise it'll droop against the weight of the earrings.
- When hanging earrings - leave space apart from all the pairs, so the ribbon doesn't hang down too low.
- Keep the ribbon size small. Put more of them instead.
- Distribute the heavy earrings on the various ribbons!
- You can also organize your earrings by colour. Hear me out! For example I don't wear gold coloured earrings too often, so I put them all together on one ribbon, so when you're matching to a gold necklace, it's easy to see all the golden (golden looking) earrings you have.
- As you see only earrings with hoopy endings can go on the ribbon, others I put in the cap of the CD spindle.
